VasWeb Website Rebuild
Project Overview
VasWeb is a long-established healthcare organization focused on male reproductive services. The project involved a full custom web design and website rebuild to replace a legacy, hand-coded site that had become difficult to maintain and extremely slow, especially on mobile devices.
The goal was to modernize the site, improve performance, and create a flexible platform that could support translations, location information, and long-term content growth.
Industry: Healthcare
Site Size: 120 pages, 8 posts
Hosting: WP Engine
The Challenge
The previous website was more than a decade old and built without a content management system. Updates were time-consuming, and performance had declined significantly over time.
Key challenges included:
- Very slow page loads, especially on smart phones
- No CMS for managing content
- Limited responsiveness across devices
- Difficulty supporting translations
- A growing amount of content spread across many pages
The site also required careful handling of DNS changes to ensure a smooth transition during launch.
The Approach
The site was rebuilt from the ground up using a modern, responsive web design framework. Breakdance Builder was used to create consistent layouts while allowing flexible content management for a large number of pages.
Performance and usability were prioritized throughout the build. Translation support and location-based content were carefully implemented to better serve a diverse audience.
Key focus areas included:
- Full CMS migration from a hand-coded site
- Improved mobile responsiveness
- Faster load times across all devices
- Translation support for bilingual visitors
- Structured content for easier updates and growth
DNS management and launch coordination were handled to ensure a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
The Outcome
The rebuilt site demonstrates how performance-focused web design provides a faster, more accessible experience for visitors and a manageable platform for ongoing updates.
Results include:
- Significantly improved performance
- A fully responsive layout
- Easier content management for a large site
- Better support for translated content
- A stable foundation for future expansion
